GETT North America at HIMSS – Turning Challenges into Opportunities. Chapter 13
HIMSS in Las Vegas once again proved to be an electrifying event, bringing together the brightest minds and latest innovations in healthcare technology. For GETT North America, it was more than just an exhibition—it was a stage to showcase our cutting-edge products, forge invaluable new partnerships, and reinforce existing relationships.
One of our biggest logistical wins this year was successfully transporting our extensive trade show setup—including our booth, products, giveaways, and brochures—using a new logistics partner for the first time. While we continue to maintain a strong relationship with our long-standing provider, we seized the opportunity to explore fresh options that could offer even greater efficiency. This decision paid off immensely, as our new partner brought deep expertise in international freight shipping and exceptional skill in navigating complex customs processes. In the fast-paced world of U.S. trade shows, seamless logistics are crucial—any delays or customs hurdles can lead to costly setbacks.
Of course, doing business in the U.S. comes with its share of challenges, particularly with evolving trade policies. The latest adjustments to Section 301 tariffs, enacted through a presidential executive order, have imposed increased tariffs of up to 35% on certain products. This shift is forcing many companies, including GETT North America, to rethink their pricing strategies.
But with every challenge comes opportunity. More and more companies are recognizing the advantages of manufacturing in the U.S.—not just to sidestep rising import costs but to gain a competitive edge in a market that increasingly values "Made in USA" products. Demand for locally produced goods is surging, making domestic production a game-changer for companies looking to expand in the U.S.
