Everything’s Bigger in Texas: GETT North America Expands. Chapter 1

In March 2023, we envisioned our first production site in North America. By May, our President, Pierre Beer, attended a significant US event in Washington to build valuable connections. By August 2023, our Business Development Manager joined the team to lead the project. We explored several locations in October, gathering feedback from potential partners. In April 2024, we found the perfect spot and signed the lease. Despite logistical challenges, we successfully moved our office to the new facility.

Born and raised in Germany, I have lived and worked in the US since 2016. My background has given me a unique perspective on navigating the cultural differences between our German headquarters and our American operations. Understanding these differences has been crucial in ensuring a smooth expansion. For example, American business practices often involve quicker decision-making, which can differ significantly from German practices. Recognizing and adapting to these nuances has been key to our success and will continue to be as we grow.

Setting up our new facility is a whirlwind. Site visits in the US were quicker and more informal than in Germany, so we captured videos, took photos, and measured key spaces meticulously. Thorough research and always having a Plan B proved invaluable, navigating differences in local standards and smoothly turned each obstacle into a learning experience.
