A Day of Challenges and Team Spirit – Reflections on Teamwork at GETT North America. Chapter 6
Written by Sandra Landrock
Today was an exciting day at GETT North America, highlighting the importance of teamwork and staying flexible in unexpected situations. As always, the last day of our financial year was dedicated to our annual inventory count. You might think an inventory check is boring? Not with us!
Everything started off smoothly: lists were checked, stock levels counted, and processes reviewed for efficiency. Our goal was to ensure operations were running seamlessly, all to provide our customers with the best possible quality.
But then, an unexpected twist appeared – in the form of a giant spider right in the middle of our kitchen! Just like in business, obstacles can pop up unexpectedly and throw you off course. But what truly matters is how you respond. In our case, Audrey impressed us all by fearlessly taking charge of the situation and quickly resolving the problem. This perfectly demonstrates what sets us apart at GETT North America: embracing challenges, finding solutions, and strengthening our team along the way.
After this small but surprising interruption, we got back on track with renewed energy. To help us power through, the company treated the whole team to a well-deserved lunch.
Gestures like these don’t just boost motivation; they help everyone refocus and enjoy the task at hand. By the end of the day, we had successfully completed our inventory and wrapped up the financial year with a smile.
Reflecting on the day, we identified three essential principles of doing business in the U.S.:
- Flexibility and Problem-Solving Skills: The U.S. market often brings new challenges – from cultural differences to new regulations. Just like our “spider situation,” it’s essential to act quickly and effectively without losing your head.
- Teamwork and Cohesion: Success in the U.S. heavily depends on the team. Only when everyone works together can you achieve long-term success. The camaraderie we experienced during inventory is key to succeeding in any field.
- Efficiency through Recognition and Breaks: Small gestures, like a shared lunch, strengthen the team and boost productivity. In the U.S., where fast action is often essential, it’s important not to overlook team morale.
At GETT North America, we understand how crucial it is to stay flexible and face challenges with a strong team. This approach shapes how we work within our company – and with our clients.
